Uncovering the Hidden Keys to Digital Success

Digital transformation isn’t just about technology—it’s about mindset, identity, and readiness. Digital technologies are now essential drivers of growth and innovation, transforming industries and reshaping competitive landscapes. To thrive, businesses must embrace digital change, ensuring their teams, strategies, and cultures are fully onboard and ready to adapt.

Peter Spinda, CEO of Benchmark Business Advisory, digital entrepreneur and PhD candidate at the University of Southern Queensland, is researching digitalisation and the psychology of successful digital transformation. The study, Organisational Digital Identity, Digital Transformation and SME Performance in Regional, Rural and Remote Australian SMEs, aims to develop practical strategies for small and medium businesses across Australia, especially in regional and remote communities.

The survey is complete. More than 180 owners and leaders of Australian SMEs took part in the national survey. Their responses are now being analysed and written up.

Absorptive Capacity: How SMEs absorb and apply digital innovations for competitive advantage.

Digital Identity Matters: How a business’s digital identity shapes its digital future.

Mindset Drives Change: How business leaders’ mindsets influence technology adoption.

What happens next: Findings will be shared on this page, in our articles and through our newsletter as each stage of the analysis is completed. Practical guides for SME owners will follow.
