This policy explains how Benchmark Business Advisory Pty Ltd (ACN 677 641 593), a member of Benchmark Advisory Group, collects, uses, stores and shares personal information. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Benchmark Business Advisory.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

We only collect the personal information we need. Depending on how you deal with us, this may include:

• your business name and details about your business that you choose to share with us
• your answers to the free Business Value Score
• your postal address, if you ask for a free copy of our book
• information you share with us during an engagement, such as plans, reports and financial information
• details of how you use our website, collected through cookies and analytics tools

Most of the information we hold comes directly from you, for example when you:

• complete an enquiry, call back or booking form
• take the Business Value Score or ask for your full report
• subscribe to our articles and updates
• call, email or meet with us
• work with us as a client

We may also collect information from publicly available sources, such as business registers or professional networking sites, when it is relevant to working with you.

04How we use it

We use your personal information to:

• respond to your enquiry and prepare for a conversation with you
• deliver our advisory, training and research services
• calculate your Business Value Score and send your full report
• post your free book
• send you articles, podcast episodes and updates you have asked for
• improve our website and services
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

05Who we share it with

We may share your personal information with:

• other members of Benchmark Advisory Group, such as Benchmark Talent Advisory and Benchmark Business Research, where this is relevant to your request
• trusted service providers who help us run our business, such as website hosting, email, customer relationship management, scheduling, analytics, and printing and postage providers
• our professional advisors, such as accountants and lawyers
• government agencies or others where the law requires or allows it

Some of our service providers may store information outside Australia, including in cloud-based systems. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
