About Donna

Donna Benjamin leads Benchmark Talent Advisory, the people and leadership arm of Benchmark Business Advisory. She works with owners and leaders of small to medium businesses to help them hire the right people, build leaders they can trust, and put practical HR foundations in place, so the business performs well without everything running through the owner.

Donna brings more than 25 years of hands-on people leadership experience, having built and led the people, culture and safety functions of businesses ranging from start-ups and founder-led companies through to large national and global organisations. She has guided businesses through rapid growth, restructures and acquisitions, led recruitment at every level from frontline roles to general managers, designed and delivered leadership programs that managers actually use, and worked through the hard end of HR: performance issues, Fair Work matters, and difficult exits handled properly.

What makes Donna different is her commercial lens. She is not a recruiter, and she does not deliver HR theory. Every piece of advice connects back to the outcomes that matter to an owner: capability, retention, reduced people risk, and a business that is stronger and more valuable because of its team. Donna and her team of talent advisors work alongside Benchmark’s business advisors, so the people advice you receive always connects to your broader business picture.
